The other day I read a piece of news that several kids were playing water on the side of a pool, then all of a sudden a four-year-kid fell into the pool and the other kids who were older, instead of saving the four-year-old or shouting for help, just ran away and each went back home. They remained rather calm and quiet and nobody could tell they experienced and witnessed a life-and-death accident just now. luckily enough, the kid was saved by a working man near the accident spot, who revealed that he just heard the shouting from the pool and saw other several kids were running everywhere.

From what time our kids have become so indifferent and cold-hearted? In the news they just looked on unconcerned. Many parents said that this might be attributed to the disappearance of the family concept. Ever since the industrial age, we have been taught to be self-dependant and accordingly, the concept of family and kinship is being vaguer and vaguer. We left our parents when we grow up, and in turn, we are abandoned and deserted by our own kids.The situation is worse with fact that many parents prefer to give birth to just one child. They believe that more favorable conditions can be created and provided to the only child. But they never know that consequently, the single child is more likely to be spoilt, and long-term loneliness may make him or her selfish to have everything alone
