Zhu Zhu hamsters ( pronounced zoo-zoo) are a group of motorized toys, made to look like hamsters. They are the latest interactive toys for children available in the market today. These are not the typical wind up toys of yesteryears. These toys have artificial intelligence built into them. They are in way miniature robots. In fact the slogan for these toys is "pets without the mess". What makes Zhu Zhu hamsters interesting is that each one has its own" personality" and the unique traits. They are also capable of making their own sounds. There are two different modes built into them. One is the" loving mode" which means that you can love and pet them, and they'll make small chitter chatter sounds.
The other mode is the so-called "explore mode". In this mode it will move around on the floor or on a specially designed track. If you want, you can build them an environment where they will scroll around freely. They are even capable of running on a hamster wheel. Zhu Zhu hamsters require two AAA batteries. These toys are meant for children who are above the age of four. They are ideal for children between the ages of four and 10. There are basically five different Zhu Zhu pets and each one has its own name and characteristics. They are Chunk, Pipsqueak, Mr. Squiggles, Numnums and Patches.
